Meet the Capital Electric Team: Steve Beckman

Steve Beckman
September 10, 2025

Meet Steve, our new Delivery and Warehouse Specialist.

Whether he’s loading trucks, handling routes or pitching in around the warehouse, Steve keeps products moving and customers like you happy.

“Capital feels like a home away from home and I look forward to each day and the

new learning experiences I’ll tackle”

Steve may only be 24, but he’s already hit the ground running at Capital. After a stretch
delivering exercise equipment to homes and businesses, he’s now taking over our weekly delivery routes and helping out in the warehouse. It’s a role that combines hands-on work with customer interaction, which is exactly what Steve was looking for.

Let’s dive into the conversation.

How did your first few weeks at Capital go?

Fantastic! My onboarding was a steady ramp-up: I shadowed Miles, our Warehouse Operations Specialist, during my first week, shared the reins the second and by week three, I was running routes on my own. Now, I’m handling deliveries with minimal oversight while also learning the ins and outs of warehouse operations. I’m loving the change of pace compared to my last job, where my hours were constantly being cut. At Capital Electric, because we’re growing, I get to learn, contribute and grow right along with them.

How would you describe the work environment?

In a word: Pure.

A lot of places forget basic human decency and just push you to be fast and perfect. The team at Capital has been totally different, promoting not just effective and effcient work, but, more importantly, creating an environment that recognizes each of us as an important part of the company. It’s a great atmosphere to be a part of. It feels like a home away from home and I look forward to the new learning experiences each day.

What’s one skill or strength you’re bringing to the team?

I’d say my attention to detail and can-do attitude. Those are the two things I really try to bring with me every day, in everything I do. Whether in the warehouse or on deliveries, I want people to feel confident that the job’s done right and they can rely on me.

What helps you stay productive and what goals are you working toward?

Music is everything for me. Even if I can’t hear the words, the beat keeps me moving and makes the day go by. I’m really looking forward to learning more about the supply and demand side of the business and eventually diving deeper into what goes into the day-to-day management of commercial-grade warehousing. For me, a successful day is simple: if I walk out in one piece having learned something new that I didn’t know the day before, then it was a win in my book.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I’m big into tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. In fact, a friend and I are co-writing a book right now, we’re 150 pages in, based on one of our games that lasted two years. We weren’t satisfied with how it ended, so we said, you know what, we’ll write our own ending. I also enjoy Xbox game nights with friends and on weekends, there’s nothing better than heading to Lake Michigan and watching the boats drift around the bay.
