Some companies talk about being community-minded. At Capital Electric, it’s simply who we are. It’s part of our DNA.
A year of giving back – together
Every month this year, Capital Electric championed a cause, joined an event or showed up for a charity that was making a difference in our local Milwaukee community. All chosen by individual team members, turning personal choices into shared impact. It’s what we do every year and it’s a big part of what makes Capital Electric… Capital Electric.
So, as we head into the holiday season, we wanted to share a look back at the people, organizations and moments that made 2025 a year of giving, connection and good energy all around.
Here’s to a great 2026!
January: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Chosen by Nick, our Purchasing Manager, we opened the year supporting St. Jude, helping fund treatment, travel, housing and meals for families navigating some of the hardest moments imaginable. A simple donation – but one that carries weight.
February: Walleyes for Tomorrow (Pewaukee Chapter)
On February 8, Kayla and Cody, hit the ice to support the local chapter of Walleyes for Tomorrow, helping improve Pewaukee Lake’s fishery by stocking walleye fry and enhancing spawning habitat. A little cold weather, a lot of heart.
March: Mark Knickelbein Memorial Cribbage Tournament
March brought the 6th Annual Cribbage Tournament benefiting the Lake Area Free Clinic, raising critical funds for medical and dental care for uninsured families. It’s community in its purest form – people helping people, one hand at a time – with last year’s event raising $37,500!
April: Safe Families for Children & Kicking Bear
On April 5, Mike, joined an event hosted by Five Star Telecom supporting two powerful causes:
- Safe Families for Children, supporting families in crisis in LaCrosse
- Kicking Bear, mentoring at-risk youth through outdoor activities
Both organizations make an outsized impact in Wisconsin communities, and we were proud to be part of it.
May: Guitars for Vets
Our ace Customer Service Representative Lori chose Guitars for Vets, which uses the healing power of music to help veterans cope with PTSD and reconnect through creativity, providing lessons and guitars free of charge. A gift that has decreased symptoms of depression by 27% and led to a 21% improvement in PTSD symptoms. The power of shredding!
June: Kayak 4 A Cure
A group from Capital got out on the water on Fowler Lake for the 11th annual Kayak 4 A Cure, paddling to support the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation (BRPF) in its mission to fund paralysis research and provide assistance to individuals living with spinal cord disorders. Sunshine and a day on the lake, all for a great cause.
July: Brat Fry for H.A.W.S.
Honestly, this is one of our favorite days of the year: the annual Brat Fry, this year benefiting the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County. Good food, great turnout and a chance to support the animals – and adopters – in our community. It’s a highlight every summer.
August: Komen Wisconsin MORE THAN PINK Walk
Tiffaney, our Customer Support Specialist extraordinaire, and the team, took part in the MORE THAN PINK Walk on September 28 at Henry Maier Festival Park. Breast cancer touches so many lives and this was a hugely meaningful event to be a part of; one which raised $519,368!
September: Make-A-Wish: Kaden’s Wish Tailgate
We joined the tailgate fundraiser for Kaden’s Wish, where Kaden – a Make-A-Wish recipient from 2011 – raises money so another child can have their wish granted. Kayden passed away in 2019, but it’s hard to find a better example of paying it forward than the one he set with his family, raising over $1,175,000.
October: Rescue Outreach Bowling Fundraiser
Kayla and team laced up for the Rescue Outreach bowling fundraiser.
Fun fact: Both Kayla and Nick adopted their pets from this rescue, making the cause personal – and powerful! 2024’s event raised more than $24,000 for the shelter.
November: Fellow Mortals Wildlife Rehabilitation
In November, we supported Fellow Mortals, a wildlife hospital in Lake Geneva dedicated to caring for injured and orphaned animals. Their Wild Spirits Christmas event helps keep that mission alive year after year.
December: FOX6 Coats for Kids
We wrapped up 2025 by serving as a drop-off location for FOX6’s Coats for Kids. With help from our customers and community, last year we collected 20+ coats along with hats and mittens for kids who need them most during these harsh Wisconsin winters.
Another year of doing good things for a great community
What stands out about 2025 isn’t the number of events – it’s the heart behind each one. As we head into the holidays, we just want to say thank you – to our team, our partners, our customers and everyone who helped make each month matter.
Here’s to carrying this momentum into 2026.
If there’s a cause you think we should support next year, we’d love to hear it.
