This holiday season, we hope you find joy, warmth and (lots of) time with loved ones.

As we reflect on this past year, as we all do in December, we’re reminded of the incredible strength and dedication of our team, who work tirelessly to deliver excellence every day.

Here’s to a bright and successful 2025 filled with new opportunities, stronger partnerships and continued growth for us all.

Lessons from our team

In 2024, we decided to embark on a unique project; celebrating our team through individual profiles that showcased the people behind – and in front of – Capital Electric.

From those convos, several recurring themes emerged, values that we hold close and that define who we are as a company.

Problem-solving is in our DNA

At Capital Electric, challenges are embraced as opportunities to grow and excel. This mindset is a shared thread across our team, from the warehouse floor to the front office.

Our customer service point person, Lori Garbett, pointed out that problem-solving is what we do.

“We try to stand out by being helpful.

We’re not one of these big box stores where they can’t help you unless you know exactly what you want – we’ll figure it for you at Capital”

As Doug Harpster, a 30-year veteran and our outside OEM sales guru, put it:

“Meeting people and turning those initial interactions into meaningful, long-term relationships where we’re really solving issues for them is what it’s about.”

Whether it’s managing tight deadlines, getting prefab projects done or resolving issues before they even reach you, our team takes pride in going above and beyond to find the right path forward.

That means having an eye on the future to outside sales pro, Greg Tomaszewski:

“A core part of the culture here is the willingness and enthusiasm to change and evolve with the times. Being a step ahead and being able to offer solutions that solve problems for our customers today and tomorrow.”

 This commitment to problem-solving ensures that every customer like you knows they can depend on us, no matter the challenge.

A tradition of collaboration and trust

One of the most inspiring aspects of working at Capital Electric is the collaborative, family-oriented culture that defines our team.

It’s not just about the work – it’s about doing it together to create better results for you.

“We work well together as a team” our marketing specialist, Kayla Lloyd pointed out, ”and unlike previous jobs where I dreaded the start of the workday, here I feel supported, valued and excited about the contributions I make.”

Purchasing maestro, Cody Rosgard added “Your ideas matter here and your work has a purpose. That’s what makes Capital feel like a family.”

The sense of trust and mutual respect has created a workplace where everyone is empowered to contribute, whether it’s through fresh ideas or just by lending a hand during a busy period.

Building meaningful relationships

At Capital Electric, relationships are more than transactions – they’re partnerships built on trust, care and a shared commitment to success.

Our delivery hero and warehouse operations specialist Miles Meye nurtures those relationships while racking up miles.

“Getting out of the warehouse and on the road to make deliveries is a happy place for me. I get to connect with people on-site and when you’re seeing familiar faces each week, you start to build those real connections.”

It’s not just about delivering a product – it’s about building trust.

What we've learned this year

Celebrating our team this year has reinforced a simple truth: the strength of Capital Electric lies in its people.

Mike Harpster, our president, summarized it best:

“We’re a small team that likes to get stuff done.

We’re not too busy in meetings to make things happen.

We know things don’t always go as planned but with years of experience, we’ve refined our ability to adapt and resolve problems.”

This year, we wanted to show you what we already knew, that a small, dedicated team – one that truly cares – can tackle any challenge and exceed expectations.

From the front office to the warehouse, every member of our team has shown what it means to bring their best every day.

Looking ahead

As we move into 2025, we’re excited to continue building on those values that define us. We remain committed to problem-solving, collaboration and forging strong relationships with you.
