ip-based mass communication

Everything’s become connected to the network in recent years, hasn’t it?

An important move toward a network-connected system can be seen in mass communication systems within buildings and on campuses. These analog systems work independently to help us communicate to the masses but, for the most part, they still rely heavily on human interaction. And this reliance, especially in high-stress, emergency situations can lead to devastating results in a hurry.

One of the great things about IP technology is its ability to co-exist and become interoperable. AtlasIED’s mass communication system, Globalcom®.IP, is one of the most impressive we’ve seen.

Globalcom®.IP unifies VoIP, visual messaging, emergency notification and pro-audio into ONE efficient solution. It has the ability to automatically push notifications (some pre-recorded) out to devices while also adjusting each one to match the device’s capability. The system also interoperates with overhead paging, sound masking, and clock systems.

Note: We’re using the term mass communications instead of mass notification because UL notification standards have not been established yet. Some manufacturers use notification and claim compliance; compliance is NOT the same as listed.
